Now I feel that my back is stronger, and sitting for a long period of time doesn’t bother me so much anymore. If I have to drive more long distance (3+ hours) I have new methods to help immediately alleviate the pain. I also have exercises I can do at home to keep the strength in my back. I now feel like. I had pain in my left shoulder when trying to lift my arm to shampoo my hair, put away dishes, etc. The pain would shoot down the outside of my arm. Also could not sleep on my left side at night due to the pain. After all my visits, I am now pain free and 100% functional. Not restricted in any way. Also the Dr. has taught me exercises I can do at home if the problem begins to flare up again. Good!
I had a lot of discomfort with the movements in my right shoulder. I was unable to lift weights without pain. Now, I don't feel pain with lifting weights or movements. Now I am able to sleep on my shoulder without pain.
Before physical therapy pain bothered me at night, had difficulty picking up my son, hurt to raise arm above my head, had a strain in shoulder where joint is/muscle strain in upper arm and back(all felt connected), hard to get things from high shelves, difficulty to pick up pans. After Treatments I don't notice my arm at night, can pick up son, doesn't hurt to raise arm, feel much stronger, feel much better, don't notice any pain getting items from shelves that are high or picking up pans.
When I first came in I had pain in both shoulders everyday. Simple chores like opening the dishwasher were very painful. I felt relief after my first visit. Dr. Young located the source of the pain that an MRI couldn't even find. Now I hardly ever feel pain and the exercises I am doing can be done at home to strengthen the shoulders. I have been pain free for 3 weeks now and I feel like I have my life back.
After I came to physical therapy, now I have full range of motion. Through Dr. Young's manual technique, my muscles supporting the shoulder feel much more relaxed and supple enabling me to move more smoothly without as much effort. Had a wonderful experience here with both the staff and the professional attitude of Dr. Young. Thanks!!
I began seeing Dr. Young for a very painful right shoulder. The pain restricted my use of my right arm in most activities. The treatment was very effective. I have regained the use of my right shoulder and arm. Dr. Young is very knowledgeable and skillful. I could recommend him to anyone who has physical problems.
When I started my shoulder had a pain of about an "8" on the pain scale when lifting or reaching. Therapy has reduced my pain to "0". I now have full range of movement without pain.
When I came here after shoulder surgery, my arm movement was extremely limited and a pain level of 5 or worse. After my completion of physical therapy, I am now in no pain and have movement that is perfect. I am so grateful for 'Young Physical Therapy' bringing me back to normal.
Since the treatment at Young Physical Therapy, I feel so much better and Carol has been excellent at therapy treatment and has been a great experience with the entire staff so pleasant.
Dr. Young, You and Your Staff are wonderful! My shoulder was so painful and stiff from a frozen shoulder, and I could not lift my arm behind my back across my chest or in front of me more than 90 degrees .After you treated me with stretching, modalities, exercise and education, and with just the right amount. I progressed rapidly. In just a few short weeks I'm pain free and back to the gym with full range of motion! You knew just what to do at just the right time. Thank you very much!
Dr. Young and his staff helped me a lot. I came in with shoulder pain due to partial tendon tear and I am leaving with barely any pain at all. In fact both shoulders are better. Now I can play golf again without having pain at all.
When I began treatment at Young Physical Therapy, I had Just Had surgery to repair my rotator cuff. I had difficultly raising my arm to my head. Now, A month after surgery, I am able to resume normal activity that requires the use of my arm. Other than having to wait through the process of normal healing, Young Physical Therapy was wonderful in getting me back to normal. The staff is excellent and quiet attentive; as well their personal concern. I love going to therapy and I really hate when the time comes that I will no longer be going. I recommend Young Physical Therapy above all the other facilities I have gone to for therapy. Thank You Dr. Young!!
I broke my elbow and was not able to move my arm, I had gone to another physical therapist, and they told me it would take 2 yrs!! before i'd be able to fully use it again! I switched to Dr. Young, it took 4 months and my arm has complete mobility, before i couldn't brush my teeth or my hair i couldn't reach my arm out that far! Now it's completely better you wouldn't even know that i had broken it! Dr. Young did an amazing job! If you want the best you need to go to him! He truly is the best in the Valley!

Silvia and Carol are cheerful and always greet me with a smile and cheerful greeting also. I enjoy coming here very much!
I started physical therapy with Young Physical Therapy, Inc. for numbness and weakness in the left hand, ulna nerve damage. All of the staff at Young Physical Therapy are professional and caring. I feel the staff is very hands on and sincerely concerned with each patient's individual needs and treatments. My hand is doing much better and is a lot less painful. I felt worried about having surgery and I feel much more positive about my hand healing and hopefully surgery will not be needed. Whatever happens I have had an extremely positive experience at Young Physical Therapy, Inc.
Just after 8 treatments, I don't have any numbness on my hand and I gained full my hand strength back. Dr. Young and all his staff are fantastic. I've been to other hand therapy clinic, but Young Physical Therapy is the best of the best in town.
Had pain in right hip for several years. Since coming to Dr. Young, the pain has decreased a lot. Movement is a lot easier, now I can walk without pain.

I am now able to go up and down stairs without any pain or symptoms, I don't wake up anymore because of pain. Feels good to have no pain when I move around.
Thanks for the help. Before my knee felt fragile and I wasn't able to ski, surf, and skydive without risking hurting it again. Now it feels much stronger and I feel comfortable doing the things love to do. Thanks for being so friendly too!
I am so much better than when I first came here. I was walking with a limp. I had pain in my knee and ankle everyday. I had to take one step at a time going up stairs. Now I can walk up my stairs with no problems. No limping. I am amazed.
I was referred to Dr. Young after I tore my ACL in order to prep for surgery. I was told he was very knowledgeable. I wasn't disappointed and enjoyed the added benefit of him always attending to each patient while being very friendly. I was perfectly prepared for surgery and after surgery I was able to jump in full force. In one month I could do the elliptical for 3 miles at a time. He is phenomenal and I will recommend him to anyone!
When I first came in I couldn't walk very long or stand without pain being a 10/10. Now after physical therapy I'm back at work walking and standing for 9 hours a day without pain. I would really recommend any to go to physical therapy at Young Physical Therapy. Thanks for everything.
Before I came my pain in my right knee was about a 7/10. I had a hard time moving it, going up and down stairs, and it would wake me up at night. Dr. Young gave me exercises to do at home. After two months the pain has decreased greatly and I could do so much more. Finally Now I don't have any pain and, I can now do the stair climber for 40 minutes, it does not hurt in the night, and while doing the procedures I am much more stable.
I came here with a very soar, stiff right knee that caused me to walk with a limp at the end of every workday. After my time here at Young Physical Therapy I now have full mobility with freedom of movement without pain or any discomfort. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Before Therapy, I was unable to walk without crutches. It was near impossible to bend my knee. My pain level was at a 7-8/10 consistently. Now I can walk normal without crutches. Able to run without pain.
When I came to Young Physical Therapy I was dealing with debilitating pain in my right knee. I had been dealing with this pain for 8 years. Some days were too painful to get out of bed and all days were too painful to stand longer than three minutes. Dr. Young's clinic has given me constant pain free days. I am active again and am not held back from actives with the rest of my friends also in their twenties. My overall quality of life has a delightful improved. I now have no physical restrictions to my knee. Thank you Dr. Young
Prior to my physical therapy I had pain walking on uneven surfaces and kept twisting my left ankle which was painful. I also duck-walked instead of keeping my feet straight when walking. After the physical therapy my ankle no longer hurts, I am walking straight, and the heel pain/ arch pain has dissipated. I am very satisfied with my treatment and the polite way I was treated by Dr. Young.
I first came to Young Physical Therapy 3 weeks ago. My diagnosis form my orthopedic doctor was plantar fasciitis. I had already had 2 cortisone shots, 2nd one did not take the pain away, so my orthopedic doctor referred me to Young Physical Therapy. On my initial visit I had excruciating pain in my foot. Also, I always walked with a limp and considered using crutches. The treatments I have had at physical therapy has gradually made improvements until just 3 weeks into therapy I have very little discomfort when walking-no limp at all- I have gone from (on a scale of 1-10) Started with a 7-8 and now am barely at a 1. Huge improvement! I cannot believe how these treatments have helped. Nearly pain free!!
My pain level was reduced dramatically after the first visit/treatment. I had to sit to reduce the pain prior to the first treatment. I am now able to stand and walk without any pain or symptoms. My leg is stronger than it was prior to physical therapy.
Before physical therapy I had ankle pain, lack of flexibility in ankle region, lack of strength in ankle region. After I had no ankle pain, normal flexibility and strength in ankle.
When I came 8 weeks ago, my right foot was in a lot of pain. Walking short distances or standing for a short while was extremely painful. In the morning, when I would get out of bed, I experienced immense pain and didn't know how I would make it through the day. Today, I've completed 8 weeks of therapy and I feel a whole lot better. I can walk for 35-40 minutes and have increased my pace. I can jump and jog and not feel any pain. I didn't think it was possible to resume my normal activities after experiencing my foot pain for so long, but I am happy to say that I am well on my way. Thank you!
Dr. Young and his staff are wonderful! After just a few weeks of therapy, my ankle is back to normal, and my balance is even better now than it was BEFORE I broke my ankle! I would recommend Dr. Young to ANYONE who needs physical therapy!
When I started coming to Physical therapy, my ankle was sore and achy all the time. During the worst times, it was extremely painful to walk on. Within the first couple of treatments the constant pain was gone, and the occasional serve pain was nonexistent. Eventually, occasional stiffness was the only effect. As treatment progressed, the stiffness has become less and less frequent. It is now difficult to make it hurt on demand for directed treatment. I have resumed playing sports such as racquetball, and the pain is virtually non-existent.
The physical therapy has made a great difference in my pain and the ability to lift my right leg. It's the best thing I've done for the MS so far!
Before I started Physical Therapy I had the balance of one year old and walked as well as well as one too. I had difficultly standing in the shower without leaning my self against a wall, I had to sit to my cloths on, and driving was absolutely out the question. I can now do all of these things like before surgery. I've come a long way. Thank you so much.
Physical Therapy is a health profession that combines the "science of healing and the art of caring" to treat movement dysfunctions. A physical therapist performs a comprehensive analysis of movement, which includes identifying joints dysfunction, tissue limitations, muscular imbalances and structural pathologies. In order to assist patients, physical therapists use a variety of methods to create changes in tissue and movement patterns to ultimately restore function. Treatment consists of skilled manual therapy (hands on) with therapeutic exercise that simulates daily movements to rehabilitate the body, restoring maximal mobility and optimal mechanical motion, as well as provide preventative care.
Our facility is open Monday through Friday. Operating hours are 6:30am–8:00pm.
Yes. In order for you to receive physical therapy treatment, you need to obtain a prescription from your physician.
During your first visit you can expect the following:
Make sure you bring your physical therapy referral (provided to you by your doctor) and your payment information. If your insurance is covering the cost of physical therapy, bring your insurance card. If you are covered by Workers' Compensation, bring your claim number and your case manager's contact information. If you are covered by auto insurance or an attorney lien, make sure you bring this information.
You should wear loose fitting clothing so you can expose the area that we will be evaluating and treating. For example, if you have a knee problem, it is best to wear shorts. For a shoulder problem, a tank top is a good choice, and for low back problems, wear a loose fitting shirt and pants, again so we can perform a thorough examination.
Treatment sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes per visit.
For many patients, one of the primary objectives is pain relief. This is frequently accomplished with hands-on techniques, modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and/or heat or cold therapy. Movement often provides pain relief as well. Your physical therapist will provide you with the appropriate exercises not only for pain relief but to recover range of motion, strength, and endurance.
In some cases, physical therapy techniques can be painful. For example, recovering knee range of motion after total knee replacement or shoulder range of motion after shoulder surgery may be painful. Your physical therapist will utilize a variety of techniques to help maximize your treatment goals. It is important that you communicate the intensity, frequency, and duration of pain to your therapist. Without this information, it is difficult for the therapist to adjust your treatment plan.
In most states, physical therapists cannot make a medical diagnosis. This is something that your medical doctor will provide for you.
Physical therapists are important members of your medical team. At this point in time, physicians are typically the health care providers that will provide you with a medical diagnosis.
Physical Therapists are licensed health care professionals. Prior to practicing they must obtain a Master and/or Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited education program and pass their state board exams to be licensed. They have extensive training in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neurological sciences, disease and injury pathophysiology in addition to skilled therapeutic treatment application. In addition, physical therapists attend continuing education courses to stay abreast of the latest medical developments and treatment approaches.
Physical therapist assistants, or PTAs, are licensed health care providers who work under the supervision of physical therapists. Duties of the PTA include assisting the physical therapist in implementing treatment programs, training patients in exercises and activities of daily living, conducting treatments, and reporting to the physical therapist on the patient's responses.
This will depend on the type of insurance you carry. We provide insurance preauthorization before your 1st appointment and advise you what your co-pay will be for each visit.
Billing for physical therapy services is similar to what happens at your doctor's office. When you are seen for treatment, the following process occurs:
It is important to understand that there are many small steps (beyond the outline provided above) within the process. Exceptions are common to the above example as well. At any time along the way, information may be missing, miscommunicated, or misunderstood. This can delay the payment process. While it is common for the payment process to be completed in 60 days or less, it is not uncommon for the physical therapy clinic to receive payment as long as six months after the treatment date.
Some patients will need to continue with home exercises. Some may choose to continue with a gym exercise program. Others will complete their rehabilitation and return to normal daily activities. It is important that you communicate your goals to your therapist, so he/she can develop a custom program for you.
